Press Release

Date: June 30, 2021
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Infrastructure

Today, Congressman David Price (NC-04), a senior Member and former Chair of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, announced that his Community Project Request for the Wake Forest Reservoir Project has advanced in the House as part of the Fiscal Year 2022 Homeland Security Appropriations Bill. The project was included in the bill which passed the Subcommittee today.

The project would award $2.175 million to the Town of Wake Forest to address safety risks associated with the 1960s-era reservoir dam by decommissioning and dismantling existing infrastructure to mitigate threats to public safety and implement new safety measures to mitigate potential flooding.

"Rebuilding North Carolina's aging infrastructure will help mitigate future disasters and make our communities safer," said Congressman David Price. "That is why I am pleased that the House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee included the Wake Forest Reservoir Project upgrades in their annual funding bill, which passed in Subcommittee today. While passage in Subcommittee is just the first step, I'll continue working to ensure this project is included in the final version of this year's Homeland Security Appropriations bill."

In April, Congressman Price submitted 10 requests to the House Appropriations Committee for consideration for Community Project Funding in the Fourth District. All of Congressman Price's Community Project Funding requests can be found here and the financial disclosures can be found here.
